Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka has fired back at President William Ruto saying the opposition members are not interested in any job at the executive.

The comments come after Ruto said he will not appoint any member of the opposition to his government.

Ruto welcomed the commitment by the Azimio leaders to check on his administration.

"I'm happy to note that our competitors have said they will provide oversight over our government," Ruto said.

"We have accepted that we are not going to appoint any member of the opposition into government because we want a vibrant opposition, an opposition that will keep the government on check."

But in an apparent rejoinder to Ruto's remarks, Kalonzo said they have a lot of work to do rather than seeking jobs in the executive.

"Let it be known to all and sundry that the leaders in Azimio One Kenya Alliance are not interested in any jobs whatsoever from the executive. We already have a lot of work to do as we have demonstrated even this afternoon,'' he said.

The Wiper leader made the remarks during the unveiling of the Azimio parliamentary leaders.

Kalonzo said the legislature as an arm of government has a constitutional mandate to oversight the executive.
