Uhuru was accompanied by his son Muhoho.

The two have been close friends since the March 8, 2018 handshake, that later saw Uhuru endorse Raila as his preferred successor.

Raila, however, lost the August 9 election to William Ruto who garnered 7.1 million votes against Raila's 6.9 million.

The visit came a day after the Supreme Court dismissed Raila's petition he had filed to overturn Ruto's win.

Kenyans online were however quick to point out that, from the photos, Raila was not in good shape. His face appeared swollen.

They commented on the rare friendship between Uhuru and Mutua.

Mutua, a fierce civil rights activist, refused to recognise Uhuru as President after the 2013 general election which Raila lost.
