Lawyer Tom Ojienda has won the Kisumu senate seat with a wide margin following the August 9 general election.
In the results declared Friday morning by the Kisumu returning officer, Ojienda garnered 413,121 votes against his sole challenger Enos Kudi Okolo of Jubilee who got 15,575 votes.
The results were announced by the constituency Returning Officer Yegon Kibos at the Kisumu county tallying center, Tom Mboya Labour College.
Ojienda vied for the position on the ODM party ticket.
Incumbent senator Fred Outa did not defend the seat after he lost the ODM nominations to Ojienda in April.
