It is disturbing to see how insecurity cases increase during the election period due to political differences among Kenyans.
In the recent past, security agencies have found a difficult time maintaining and enforcing the law.
Several families have lost their loved ones due to insecurity.
With only seven days to the elections, most families are now travelling to the village for security purposes.
Others are forced to close down their businesses and even empty their stocks because of what happened in the previous elections where they were robbery cases.
Due to this, the economy of the nation depreciates, lowering the living standard of citizens.
Several organisations have come out to spread peace across the country, especially in regions considered to be election violence hotspots.
Religious groups are also supporting the government in promoting peace.
Let’s stop tribalism, hate speech and political differences and promote unity and peace as we elect our leaders.
The government should ensure that Kenyans are safe as we go to the polls.
Enough security officers should be deployed to hotspot areas.
IEBC should assure Kenyans of a free and fair election.
As Kenyans, we should also be at the forefront in advocating for peace and harmony.
