Okwara, Ageyo to moderate presidential debate set for Tuesday

The second debate which will include the top two contenders (Raila Odinga and William Ruto) will be moderated by Yvonne Okwara and Eric Latiff.

Five renowned journalists have been selected to host Tuesday's presidential debate.

The five include; Smriti Vidyarthi (NTV), Ken Mijungu ( KTN News), Yvonne Okwara (Citizen TV), Eric Latiff (Spice FM & KTN News) and Joe Ageyo (NTV).

"The moderators have been selected based on a rigorous criteria that abides to among other things the principles of impartiality, fairness and objectivity, a strong understanding of the Kenyan political landscape and the major issues of elections," the Presidential Debate Secretariat said.

The presidential debate set for July 26,  will be held at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa and will begin at 5 pm.

This is the same venue the deputy presidential and Nairobi gubernatorial debates were held.

The debate will be held in two tiers. The first tier will see presidential candidates who have polled less than 5 per cent in three recent opinion polls face off.

It will be moderated by Smriti Vidyarthi of NTV and KTN News' Ken Mijungu.
