In a series of campaigns in three counties, Ruto said Raila was Prime Minister but did nothing tangible for the country
“This man (Raila) that we are competing with was a prime minister. Is there anything he has done for you or brought to this county?” Ruto asked.
He said having been the DP over the last two terms he has managed to realise many development projects.
Ruto combed through Vihiga, Nyamira and Kisii counties on Wednesday.
Speaking at Mogombo in Nyamira, Ruto cited the new electricity connections, construction of new technical institutes and installation of medical equipment in three hospitals of Nyamira, Manga and Keroka.
He was accompanied by Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetang'ula, Amason Kingi of the PAA party and MPs.
The group kicked off their campaigns in Mbale, Vihiga, before flying to Nyamira and Kisii.
Nyanza and Western which collectively account for close to five million votes have for long been regarded as Raila's strongholds.
They have voted for him to the last man in the two previous elections.
However, Wetangula exuded confidence Kenya Kwanza would form the next government.
Wetangula told the electorates that if they win the August 9 poll, “we are going to deliver services worth your votes.”
“This election that we are going to have will be about reducing the prices of basic commodities because we have captured the concerns of the common man in our manifesto," Wetangula said.
Kingi revisited the mitumba debate accusing Odinga of disrespecting traders in the sector.
ANC leader Musalia Mudavadi was missing during the tours with Ruto with reports saying he is out of the country.
Others who accompanied him were MP Charles Njagua and Cate Waruguru.
Ruto at the same warned Odinga against breaching the peace after the poll saying he expects him to concede defeat as per his commitment.
“Roundi hii hakuna kung’oa reli, tunammalizia asubuhi na mapema na tumpeleke kwake(I have told my friend that this time round there is no chaos in the country, we are sending him home early in the morning.),” he said.
