Veteran journalist Joe Kadhi has passed away.
Kadhi died on Wednesday, while undergoing treatment at a Nairobi hospital.
His family said the veteran journalist will be buried on Thursday (Today) in accordance with the Islam faith.
Kadhi had an illustrious career that saw him work for Nation Media Group as managing editor for Daily Nation.
He was also a scholar and taught journalism at the University of Nairobi, Addis Ababa University and the United States International University (USIU).
Royal Media Services editorial director Linus Kaikai while mourning Kadhi's demise said that the media industry had lost a pioneer of the golden generation and mentor.
"SAD day; veteran journalist JOE KADHI has passed on. We have lost a mentor, professional guardian, legendary trainer and a pioneer of the golden generation," he said.
