Kenya records 559 new Covid-19 cases, zero deaths

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 486 of the new patients are Kenyans while 73 are foreigners.

Kenya's Covid-19 positivity rate has risen to 15.4 percent over the last 24 hours from 3,639 samples, indicating a steady rise in new cases over the past few days.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 486 of the new patients are Kenyans while 73 are foreigners; 322 among them are males while 237 are females.

Kagwe said 213 patients have recovered from the disease, 207 from the Home Based and Isolation Care Program while six are from various health facilities countrywide. 

Total recoveries now stand at 321,494 of whom 268,375 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 53,119 are from various health facilities countrywide.

Fortunately, no patient has succumbed to the disease meaning the case fatality count remains at 5,651.

There are 89 patients currently admitted in health facilities, while 3,803 are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.

"The total number of vaccines administered in the last 24 hours is 23,700 while the total number of people fully vaccinated in the last 24 hours is 8,998," Kagwe said.
