Tharaka Nithi senator Kithure Kindiki has apologised over remarks that Narc Kenya leader Martha Karua would attend UDA National Delegates Conference on Tuesday.
In a statement, Kindiki said it was a slip of tongue and that he meant to say Ford Kenya leader Moses Wetangula.
"In a inadvertent, honest slip of the tongue, I referred to “Ford Kenya Leader Martha Karua” expected to attend the UDA NDC tomorrow. I meant Ford Kenya Moses Wetangula," he said.
"Apologies to both Wetangula and Karua, and their respective political parties for the mix up."
His apology comes after the Narc Kenya leader denied that she would be attending the United Democratic Alliance event.
In a tweet, Karua who had been asked to verify whether she will attend UDA NDC on Tuesday said "Not True".
“We expect other guests including Martha Karua but we will not tell their names right now,” Kindiki said while addressing a press conference on the NDC on Monday.
The NDC is expected to endorse Ruto for the presidency.
On Saturday, Karua snubbed the Azimio La Umoja meeting where her fellow OKA principals, including Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka and Kanu's Gideon Moi, attended and endorsed Raila Odinga for the presidency.
