Former Kangema MP Tirus Nyagu has passed away after suffering from stomach cancer.

Ngahu passed away today morning in a hospital in Nairobi where he had been admitted since January 13.

Ngahu served Kangema constituency after being elected in a by-election following the death of former MP John Njoroge Michuki in 2012.

He was the first legislator to be elected under TNA party.

He later went on to be re-elected in the 2013 general elections but was defeated by the current MP Muturi Kigano in 2017.

He was serving as the Jubilee party's director of elections.
