Marsabit community appeals for help from government over missing kin.

A Marsabit community is appealing to the government to help in tracing their lost kin alleged to have been kidnapped in broad daylight in Nairobi South C two days ago.

According to an eyewitness, an unknown number of men forced Roba Abduba Sereqa into the car and drove off.

Former Saku MP and community elder Jarso Jillo Falana called on the government to come clean on Sereqa's whereabouts saying if he was taken by police, he should be handled in accordance with the law.

"We are appealing to the government to intervene and help us find him. If he has committed any offence please present him before the court. If not, the government has enough resourcese to help us find him," he said

Similar sentiments were echoed by regional director chambers of commerce upper eastern Jacob Elisha Godana who said the missing businessman was a law-abiding citizen who was focused on his business activities.

He said as a business community, they will close their business in a day in solidarity with abducted businessmen adding that business within Marsabit has already been affected because of fear.

Marsabit politician Halima Khalif requested the government to intervene and have the businessman found.

She described Sereqa as a humble civil servant, a prominent businessman and a man with no criminal record.

His family has printed and circulated a poster bearing Roba's picture and information that will help in reaching out to the family.
