In Summary

  • This is the alliance to watch because the formation stands for inclusivity and that is what Kenyans are looking for.
  • There is also nothing like a two-horse race in 2022 as some people want Kenyans to believe.

Reports that Oka is divided and that some MPs allied to the alliance are secretly meeting our competitors are just propaganda.

Legislators allied to the alliance are loyal and I do not think any one of them has been receiving money from our rivals.

There is also nothing like a two-horse race next year as some people want Kenyans to believe.

The team of Musalia Mudavadi, Kalonzo Musyoka, Moses Wetang'ula and Gideon Moi is energised and now more than ever determined to drum up support for the alliance.

We had very successful rallies at the weekend in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties. Supporters came out in large numbers and assured us that they are fully behind us.

I, therefore, want to dismiss the propaganda that we have divisions in Oka; and that some of us are secretly engaging with rivals.

On Saturday, we divided the team where Moi and former Lugari MP Cyrus Jirongo went to Elgeyo Marakwet while the rest of us were in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia. On Sunday, Wetang'ula went to Kisii to receive politicians who had defected to Ford Kenya while Mudavadi went to Uasin Gishu county.

As a family, Oka will rally behind whoever the team will pick as the flagbearer, whether Wetang'ula, Moi, Mudavadi or Kalonzo. They are all equals and they are all committed to the alliance.

This is the alliance to watch because the formation stands for inclusivity and that is what Kenyans are looking for. We are calling on like-minded people to join us.

Some people are telling us to name our candidate now. I want to tell them that we will go as per the calendar of the electoral commission. We will name the presidential candidate at the right time; that is after wide consultations. We will also give the team time to pick the person through consensus.

Our competitors may have started campaigns earlier than us but that does not mean they will carry the day. We are moving steadily and very soon people will realise that we are a force to watch out for.
