Bahati was on the receiving end on Tuesday after he shared a clip in which he is smoking an e-cigarette while listening to Marlon Asher's Ganja Planter.
The Fikra za Bahati hitmaker used the clip to announce an upcoming project.
However, most of his fans bashed him and accused him of mockery.
"Just one puff to celebrate being the top Gospel artist and top secular at the same time in Kenya. Humbled," he captioned the video.
Fans said the star should set an example to the youth who look up to him.
A fan wrote; "na ati ulikua unaimbia God...aki wewe baha. pesa wewe."
robbiro20 wrote; "You will turn into a pillar of salt ....wewe cheza tu na Mungu."
Some celebrities also took a swipe at the musician.
DK kwenye beat said he was praying Bahati while comedian Terence asked him to put God first.
