Sarit, Chiromo to experience water supply interruption from Thursday

The affected customers have been asked to use water sparingly.

NMS distributes one million litres of water using 42 water bowsers across informal settlements in where there are no boreholes.

Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company will shut water supply pipeline along Waiyaki way from Kabete Treatment Works due to Nairobi expressway construction.

In a notice on Wednesday, Managing Director Nahashon Muguna said this will facilitate interconnection of relocated pipeline to the old pipeline along Waiyaki way.

This will be from the old Safaricom house to the junction on Waiyaki way Road and Prof Wangari Maathai Road.

The shutdown will start from September 9 at 6am to September 10 at the same time, Muguna said.

The areas to be affected are Estates along Waiyaki way Road, Rhapta Road, Parklands Road, Mpaka Road, Chiromo Lane, Manyani Road, and Church Road.

Others are; Highridge and Westlands areas, Muguga Green Estate, Nairobi School, Kabete barracks, MP Shah Hospital, Sarit Center, and the surrounding buildings.

Muguna urged its affected customers to use the available water sparingly as it works to restore the supply.

Last month, some areas within the county were also affected following the shutdown of the Dagoretti and Uthiru water pumps.

The affected estates include Upper Kabiria, Mithongo, Kamwaya, Kahuho, Ngina, and Kikuyu Roads and parts of Gatanga Road, Amboseli Road, Suna Estate, Sohill City Estates, and its environs.
