Msambweni MP Dori succumbed to cancer, to be laid to rest today

Msambweni Member of Parliament Ramadhan Suleiman Dori will be laid to rest today in the afternoon.

Orange Democratic Movement said the late legislator who passed on early Monday morning will be buried at 4pm at his home village of Gazi, in Msambweni Constituency, Kwale County.

The party said Dori had succumbed to cancer.

 

"We are saddened by the death of our Member and MP for Msambweni Hon. Suleiman Dori early this morning. Cancer has once again robbed Kenya a dedicated leader who served his people selflessly. To the people of Msambweni, Kwale County & the Coast region, poleni sana," the Party posted on its twitter page.

Dori died at the Aga Khan Hospital in Mombasa where he was admitted at the Intensive Care Unit.

Director of Coast Development Authority Mshenga Rugha earlier on said Dori fell sick on Sunday and was rushed to the hospital.

The 42-year-old legislator was a second time MP for Msambweni on an ODM ticket.

Party leader Raila Odinga in his condolence message said Dori had displayed exceptional leadership. 

"My heartfelt condolences go out to the people of Msambweni and family of Ramadhani Suleiman Dori who has passed on this morning. May the Lord grant his family comfort at this difficult moment and may his soul Rest In Eternal Peace," Raila said.

President Uhuru Kenyatta in his condolence described the fallen legislator as an astute politician who served his constituents with utmost commitment.
