The National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) has summoned ODM's  communications director Philip Etale to clarify remarks he made during the campaigns for the Kibra by-election.

"Yes it is true I have been summoned to appear before the NCIC on Tuesday, 10th December over a Facebook post I made during the Kibra by-election campaign. I will oblige. In God I Trust," Etale wrote on his social media.

He told the Star on the phone that there is nothing inciting in the said post.

"After we finished the campaign for our candidate in the Kibra race, I just posted that "we are now done with the campaigns and now we proceed to fumigate the cockroaches," he said.

ODM's candidate Imran Okoth won the November 7 Kibra by-election by a landslide. His opponent, McDonald Mariga, conceded defeat before the complete tally of votes.

Etale said he made a mere political statement and was not aimed at anyone.

Earlier, DCI detectives arrested Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei over what they termed hatred remarks.

Cherargei was arrested on Tuesday, and granted Sh300,000 bail after being charged at a Milimani court.

He was accused of making inciting remarks at Kilibwoni Primary School on August 17.
