
West Pokot Governor Simon Kachapin has announced a mini reshuffle involving three county executive committee members (CECs) and several chief officers.
The changes, outlined in a gazette notice dated July 8, were effected under Section 179(2) of the Constitution, read together with Sections 30, 35(3), and 45(5) of the County Governments Act.
In the CEC reshuffle, Paul P’kukot Woyakapel and Joshua Ruto Loriong’ong’ar have swapped dockets.
Woyakapel moves from Health and Sanitation to Finance and Economic Planning to replace Loriong’ong’ar, who has been moved to Trade, Co-operative Development, Industry and Energy.
Clare Chemtai Parklea, who was in charge of the Trade docket, replaces Woyakapel at Health and Sanitation.
At the chief officer level, Daniel Lopale moves from Trade to Special Programmes, Humanitarian Coordination and Disaster Management.
Priscillah Chebet Mungo has been reassigned from Finance to Health and Sanitation, while David Chepelion moves from Special Programmes to the Trade docket.
Naomi Cherotich Lemreng remains the Chief Officer for Agriculture, Livestock, Irrigation and Fisheries, but will also serve in an acting capacity as Chief Officer for Finance and Economic Planning.
The chief officer changes were made pursuant to Section 179(2) of the Constitution, as read with Section 45(5) of the County Governments Act.
