Turkana County Director of Education Peter Magiri said exams at Nachukui Primary in Turkana North has delayed due to impassable roads caused by flooding.
He said heavy rains being experienced in the area and its environs have rendered most roads impassable.
Magiri said they were forced to request a chopper to help deliver exam materials to the affected schools.
The education boss said the vehicle ferrying exams to Nachukui Primary School was stranded at the banks of river Nariokotome which burst its banks following the rains.
"It has been raining heavily and it wasn't easy to ferrying exams to Nachukui Primary School because of the flooded river. We have ordered a chopper that will help to deliver exams to the flooded regions so that candidates can do their exams on time," he said.
He said the flooded river had subsided and exams will start once the papers are ferried to the school.
