DCI detectives impound 6 high-end vehicles smuggled into Kenya

3 Mercedes-Benzes and 3 Range Rovers were smuggled into the country for Tax Evasion.

DCI Serious Crime Unit Detectives in a Wednesday operation on smuggled vehicles impounded six motor vehicles suspected to have been smuggled from other countries.

Detectives confirmed that the three Mercedes-Benzs and three Range Rovers were smuggled into the country without paying tax.

Further investigations from Interpol have revealed that one of the Mercedes Benzs was stolen from Tshegofasto Mabyane in South Africa and one of the Range Rovers was reported stolen in the United Kingdom.

The two identified vehicles will be handed over to Interpol for further processing.

Taxes had not been paid for the other three vehicles.

Investigations have also established that one Range Rover had a Toyota Probox Registration Number.

The vehicles will be handed over to the National Transport and Safety Authority and KRA for proper proceedings.

DCI has said that the perpetrators who will be found connected to the ongoing investigations will be charged accordingly.

DCI has also maintained that no one will steal from one country and enjoy the sweat of others while in another country.
