There is always something to get excited about when we see the opportunity to win big. For many, the dream is to win some large life altering amount of money.

It is the reason lotteries are so popular and have thousands of people taking part despite having a minuscule chance of winning will take part.

However, the problem with these prizes is that the winners are rare and while they might improve the life of one person, overall they do not benefit the larger community.

Safaricom is trying to change that. As part of their Shinda Mamili na Tunukiwa promotion, Thousands of Kenyans have the chance to win big.

“By giving prizes other than just the millions we are ensuring that more Kenyans have an opportunity to win something. Simple math, if you give one person one million, that would be one person.

“With the same one million, you can give out 10 bikes to 10 winners. Ten families who would definitely benefit from a long-term income generating machine.”

Through the Shinda Mamili na Tunukiwa, five million Kenyans have the chance to win. So rather than just one person or a few people winning, one in five Safaricom customers will get something during the promotion.

The promotion which runs until March 27, in addition to win 400 new TVS brand HLX 123cc motorbikes, Safaricom customers can also win Sh25,000 worth of school vouchers, eight grand draw winners of Sh2million per region, 80 winners of Sh500,000 every week per region and 2,000 neon smartphones.

All customers would have to do is dial *444# and buy any of the calling, SMS or browsing bundles where they will be awarded entry points – 10 points for daily bundles to 500 points for monthly bundles.

“Safaricom continues to live true to its promise of transforming peoples lives for the better and with Tunukiwa, they are poised to carry out sustainable business practices by providing their services at a better price for the customer, while ensuring well calculated profit parameters are kept in order to enable them to continue being part of the Kenyan prosperity story for much longer and transforming even more lives in the process.”
