A 60 year old Catholic priest collapsed and died Friday evening
at a hotel in Tala, Matungulu Sub County,
Machakos County.
Father Michael Muange reportedly died while watching the 7.00pm bulletin.
He was recently crowned to be in charge of the new Nguluni parish after it was elevated by arch bishop Anthony Muheria.
Fr Muange previously served at Kangundo, Machakos Cathedral and Nguluni Catholic Church where he was in charge of until his death.
Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua sent his condolences to the bereaved family, Nguluni residents and Catholic faithfuls at large.
"I join the Catholic community in mourning Father Michael Muange, Father in charge of Nguluni Parish in Matungulu and formerly Kangundo Parish, Machakos Diocese. He was a great friend to me and to my government. His straightforward approach to life was refreshing, admirable and will be greatly missed. We have truly lost a great man, Rest in peace Father Muange," Mutua posted on his Facebook page.
