Jubilee Party has said the National Super Alliance is held captive by corrupt cartels hence not the best choice for Kenyans on August 8.

Secretary General Raphael Tuju on Friday said the JP rather loses the polls in dignity than "accept blackmail from the opposition and Wanjigi".

Tuju named businessman Jimi Wanjigi as a 'shadow beneficiary' who benefited from the Anglo-leasing and the Goldenberg scandal.

"This cartel has already taken over NASA. It is behind the coalition's two manifestos. One of them is to help the cartels benefit from the taxpayer's money."

"... the NASA leadership has sold its soul...they are connected to beneficiaries of graft. Our country is on the brink of being run by a cartel," he said.

The SG, speaking at Jubilee headquarters, claimed that NASA is captive to corruption, therefore, cannot be trusted with running the country.

"Kalonzo Musyoka recently introduced Wanjigi as a prominent businessman. Can he tell Kenyans what business he does?" Tuju asked.

"Even us sitting here and speaking the truth about those cartels puts our lives in danger," the former Foreign Affairs minister said.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen acknowledged that Wanjigi was a supporter of the Jubilee government in 2013.

"He fell out with the side for selfish interests. He hoped to get 15 per cent of the SGR Sh327 billion tender and the Greenfield project at the airports."

"Wanjigi was a supporter of Jubilee in 2013 but when this failed, he switched allegiance," Murkomen said.

Early this week, Deputy President William Ruto dismissed claims he is being funded by Jimmy Wanjigi.

He said questions on the businessman should be directed to Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

Kalonzo last week claimed that Wanjigi was funding Ruto to aid the Jubilee campaigns for August 8 elections.

"... mwenye kupea Ruto pesa zote ni Jimmy Wanjigi ... mahali walikosania nauliza Wanjigi ambie wakenya ukweli kuhusu Ruto," Kalonzo said during a rally.

(It is Wanjigi who funds Ruto ... we dont know where they clashed ... let him tell Kenyans the truth about Ruto)

But during an interview with Citizen TV on Sunday, Ruto said it is Kalonzo who should answer the funding allegations.

"Kalonzo should answer the allegations...instead of dropping names, the name Wanjigi did not come from me. It came from Kalonzo."

More on this:

There were reports that the businessman was bankrolling NASA's presidential campaigns.

Wanjigi was reported to be pulling the strings in the upper echelons of NASA, where it is said he is mobilising funds for logistics.

The sources of NASA presidential campaign funds is causing jitters among their competitors in Jubilee.
