The demolition of unsafe residential buildings has resumed .
National Disaster Management Unit (NDMU) deputy director Pius Masai said three buildings will be demolished on Tuesday.
According to the residents, some of the buildings stand on sewer lines.
"We support the efforts to ensure people get better housing because some of these buildings are very unsafe," one of the residents said.
"Corruption is a very bad thing. There are many buildings in this area that should have been demolished long time ago. But we support what the government is doing," another resident, Cornel Nzioka said.
The county government plans to demolish 204 buildings declared unsafe in the city.
Housing executive Christopher Khaemba said "all those marked must go down and none will be spared."
Some of the owners of buildings marked for demolition have already moved to the courts to get orders to stop the process.
