Title chasing Posta Rangers tactician Zedekiah Otieno has been crowned Fidelity Insurance April Coach of the Month. The defensive-minded tactician has led his promoted side to third place in the league after 12 rounds of matches and has only lost one game in the 2016 SportPesa Premier League.

Zico, as he’s fondly referred to fans, led Rangers to three victories over Ushuru, Tusker and Ulinzi Stars in the month of April with two draws away to Bandari and Thika United, garnering 11 points which propelled his side to within three points of leaders Tusker.

In a vote conducted by sports journalists, Zico won unanimously, trouncing the likes of Gor coach Marcelo Ferreira, Muhoroni tactician James Omondi, Tusker’s Paul Nkata and James Nandwa of Thika United, all of whom made it to the shortlist for the award.

The former Sony Sugar and Gor coach became the third recipient of Fidelity Insurance gong after Mathare’s Francis Kimanzi and Leopards’ Ivan Minnaert, who scooped the February and March awards.
