A court clerk yesterday told a Nakuru court how detectives recovered Sh10,000 from a magistrate accused of soliciting a bribe.
Kericho resident magistrate Judith Nyakol and clerk Robert Cheruiyot are accused of soliciting Sh20,000 bribe from Wilson Yegon on August 21 last year.
Judy Njeri, who worked as a court clerk for Nyakol, said she was called by anti-graft officers who wanted to search the magistrate’s chambers.
She said she knew Cheruiyot as a colleague and had seen him acting as a Kipsigis interpreter.
The hearing continues today.
