Githunguri police have been given five days by a court to finalise their investigations on two people charged with the murder of two boda boda operators.
Peter Boro and James Ndichu were killed on Sunday night over a Sh170 beer bill.
They were allegedly beaten to death by the owner of Wamarion Pub in Kwamaiko, Rose Wanjiru and watchman James Maigwa for not paying for the beer.
Wanjiru and Maigwa appeared before Githunguri senior resident magistrate Melaine Ochieng yesterday, but did not answer to the charge as the investigating officer asked for 10 days to conclude the probe.
Wanjiru did not oppose the application, but said her property was stolen by a mob who broke into her pub and home.
Maigwa told the court 10 days is too long, as he was feeling sick and hungry.
Ochieng directed that Maigwa be taken to hospital.
The two were remanded in Githunguri until investigations are concluded.
Chaos erupted on Monday at Kwamaiko shopping centre where residents and boda boda operators broke into the bar and an adjacent wholesale shop belonging to Wanjiru.
The mob stole everything in sight then turned their rage on police.
