President William Ruto and First Lady Rachel Ruto joined thousands of Kenyans in celebrating Madaraka Day at Wajir Stadium in Wajir county.

Madaraka Day is observed annually on June 1 to mark the day Kenya attained internal self-rule in 1963, a key milestone in the country's path to independence.
