President William Ruto on Wednesday hosted the Commander of the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), Air Force General Dagvin R. M. Anderson, at State House, Nairobi.

The two leaders held discussions on strengthening cooperation in advancing peace and security across the region.

President Ruto said Kenya values its strong and enduring ties with the United States, particularly in security and peacekeeping efforts.

“We discussed the need to consolidate the gains made in advancing peace and security in the region, while working together to find stronger, more collaborative, and innovative ways to address the ever-evolving security challenges,” the President said in a statement.

The meeting also reaffirmed both countries’ commitment to building partnerships aimed at safeguarding long-term peace and stability.
