Environment, Climate Change and Forestry Cabinet Secretary Soipan Tuya on Thursday hosted France Ambassador to Kenya Arnaud Suquet.
The discussion focused on the progress of ongoing bilateral and multilateral initiatives involving Kenya and France.
The discussion also explored opportunities for new partnerships including support for the modernization of Kenya's meteorological services.
According to the ministry, The International Tax Task Force co-chaired by Kenya, France and Barbados, and launched at last year's COP28 in Dubai to explore feasible, scalable and sensible climate levies is yet another demonstration of the strong Nairobi-Paris ties.
"The longstanding Kenya-France cooperation in climate action continues to blossom with several milestones achieved in recent years including the ongoing roll-out of a forest fire suppression and communication initiative supported by the French Government," the ministry said.
Tuya was joined in the meeting virtually by the Ministry's Climate Change Director Pacifica Ogolla.
