Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Saturday joined leaders and the clergy in celebrating the episcopal ordination of Rt Reverend John Kiplimo Lelei as Auxiliary Bishop of Eldoret Catholic Diocese.
The Ordination was presided over by Apostolic Nuncio to Kenya Archbishop Hurbetus Van Megen.
The event was held at the Mother of Apostles Seminary in Eldoret town.
"On behalf of our President H.E William Ruto and the entire government, it is hearty congratulations to the Auxiliary Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Eldoret, Rt Rev John Kiplimo Lelei on your Episcopal Ordination," Gachagua said.
Those accompanying the Deputy President included Roads and Transport Cabinet Secretary Kipchumba Murkomen, Cooperatives and MSMEs Cabinet Secretary Simon Chelugui.
Others were Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang, Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Koti Moja, Nandi Governor Stephen Sang and Elgeyo Marakwet Governor Wisley Rotich among other leaders.
