President William Ruto on Wednesday officially opened the Kakamega International Investment Conference
Upon his arrival at Masinde Muliro University, the President toured several stands set up by Kakamega County to showcase various projects.
He was accompanied by Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi, Kakamega Governor Fernandes Barasa and Senator Boni Khalwale.
The President took his time to interact with the investors and county officials.
The four-day forum which started on Tuesday will see the Fernandes Barasa-led county sign Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) with various investors.
The event at the Masinde Muliro University is themed ‘Opening up Counties as the New Frontiers for Investment and Development’.
During a pre-conference briefing on Tuesday, Barasa said he will use the opportunity to woo investors to various fields ranging from agriculture, agri-business, medical, education and social sectors.
