Namibia President Hage Geingob died on Sunday February 4, 2024 at Lady Pohamba Hospital.

The 82-year-old leader died surrounded by his wife, Madame Monica Geingos and children.

Reports indicate the President succumbed to cancer at approximately 12:04 am.

In a statement, Ruto eulogised Geingob as a  dedicated leader who was focused on serving his people.

President Geingob returned from the United States of America on January 31, 2024, following a two-day novel treatment for cancerous cells.

He had courageously disclosed his diagnosis to the public just a month ago.

President William Ruto on Sunday expressed his condolences on the passing of Geingob.
