Leaders and Kenyans on Saturday joined the family of Jaramogi Oginga Odinga in Kisumu to commemorate his 30th memorial service in Kisumu.
The service was held at the Ofafa Memorial Hall in the lakeside city.

Renowned scholars, pan-Africanists, thought leaders and journalists were among those present.
Among leaders in attendance were Siaya Senator Oburu Odinga, Kisumu Governor Anyang Nyong’o, former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta, Public Service, Performance and Delivery Management Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria and chairman of Luo Council of Elders Ker Odungi Randa among others.
Jaramogi Ajuma Oginga Odinga was a prominent political figure and one of Kenya’s freedom fighters who helped secure the country’s independence.
He was born in October 1911.
