[PHOTOS] Ex-CS Najib Balala arrives in Malindi court under tight security

Former Tourism CS Najib Balala has arrived at the Malindi Law Courts.

He arrived in a convoy of two luxurious government vehicles at the law courts under a heavy contingent of security officers.

Relatives of the former CS together with his former PS Leah Adda Gwiyo met them before they were ushered into the court cells.

They were later taken to court where they are set to be charged.

The CS looked jovial as he greeted his family members before he was taken in.

The former CS was arrested on Thursday and taken to Kilimani Police Station where he spent his night.

He was arrested alongside Gwiyo and Joseph Odero of West Consult Engineers.

EACC spokesman Eric Ngumbi said the individuals were apprehended in connection to the payment of Sh8.5 billion meant for the construction of Kenya Utalii College in Kilifi.
