52 dead as 7 vehicles crash into each other in Londiani
A tragic accident involving seven vehicles on Friday in Londiani, along the Nakuru-Kericho highway, claimed the lives of 52 people.
The 6.30 pm accident occurred after a truck lost control, running over pedestrians, business people and matatus which were parked by the roadside, witnesses and police said.
Witnesses said the driver of the truck which was heading to Kericho was trying to avoid hitting a bus that was parked on the road after developing a mechanical hitch.
Several Nissan matatus were damaged beyond recognition.
Cop, rider killed in Malaba-Bungoma highway crush
A police officer died on the spot after a motorcycle he was riding lost control and plunged into a ditch.
The accident happened along the Malaba-Bungoma highway in Ikapolok on Thursday.
The officer was cruising towards Malaba town at the time the accident happened.
The officer lost control of his motorbike and landed in a ditch.
The area where the accident occurred is a black spot.
Four KDF soldiers killed in accident along Marsabit-Isiolo highway
Four Kenya Defence Forces soldiers were on Tuesday morning killed after a vehicle they were travelling in rolled on the Marsabit-Isiolo highway.
Six others escaped with injuries following the accident that happened when the Land Cruiser overturned in the Karare area, police and witnesses said.
The injured were rushed to hospital in serious condition.
The vehicle’s driver lost control and rolled off the road killing three soldiers on the spot.
The fourth victim died at the Marsabit hospital where he was rushed together with six others.

Three US marines among four killed in horror crash as speeding car splits in two-California
Three marines were killed after a speeding car they were in crashed onto a bridge abutment and split into two ejecting passengers onto the pavement, according to the Mirror UK.
The marines were among four people killed following the accident on Tuesday.
The crash happened in Downey, California when a Dodge Charger, travelling at a high speed, collided with a bridge abutment.
The car split in two and two passengers were ejected onto the roadside while the driver and front passenger were trapped inside the burning vehicle.
Firefighters arrived at the scene and extinguished the fire, but all four occupants were pronounced dead at the scene.
