On Tuesday, President William Ruto and first lady Rachel Ruto hosted a state dinner for President Sergio Mattarella of Italy and Laura Mattarella.
The dinner was attended by the delegation that accompanied the Italian president for his four day tour of Kenya.
Also present were senior government officials in Kenya, including deputy president Rigathi Gachagua, Prime CS Musalia Mudavadi, CSs Aden Duale (Defence) and Alfred Mutua (Foreign Affairs) among others.
President Ruto said commended the Italian government for agreeing to support the country's Universal Health Coverage initiative.
"We laud the Government of Italy for supporting our plan for Universal Health Coverage in Kenya. We are particularly encouraged by the positive steps taken to establish Nairobi as a medical hub," he said.
