President William Ruto on Thursday began a tour of Western counties as he seeks to bolster his support in the region.
A tentative programme shows that the head of state will be in Kakamega on Friday to inspect various development projects.
He is also expected to preside over the Masinde Muliro University graduation ceremony on Saturday.
He will visit Kakamega County Teaching and Referral Hospital before holding a consultative meeting with leaders from the region at the State lodge in Lurambi.
Three Kakamega Azimio governors have pledged to work with Ruto
They include Kakamega's Fernandez Barasa, Vihiga's Wilber Ottichilo and Trans Nzoia's George Natembeya.
They said politics were now over and now they intend to work with the government of the day to bring development for their people.
"We want to welcome you to Kakamega as our President. We want to put behind politics and focus on development. I invite you to also tour our referral hospital and see what you can do for us." Barasa said.
