Demonstrators on Monday marched to Parliament Buildings to protest against a move to oust four IEBC commissioners.
The group assembled outside County Hall where National Assembly’s Justice and Legal Affairs Committee was meeting to receive submissions from IEBC vice chairperson Juliana Cherera.
Cherera did not appear in person but was represented by lawyer Apollo Mboya.
Led by the President of Bunge la Mwananchi, Calvin Okoth Otieno, the protestors vowed to hold daily demonstrations in solidarity with Cherera and commissioners Irene Masit, Francis Wanderi and Justus Nyang’aya.
“Kenyans are with Cherera and the three others. Even if they throw tear gas or fire live bullets at us, we will not stop,” Otieno said.
“The four commissioners stood with the truth and they are not supposed to be questioned. IEBC chairman is the one who should be attending the hearings.”
