Hundreds of Kenyans on Monday turned up for free diabetes screening as the country joins the rest of the world in marking World Diabetes Day.

The event which took place at the DCC grounds in Kawangware had a target of at least 800 people before the end of the day.

The focus is on screening for lifestyle diseases and blood pressure.

Those found to be having a health condition are attended to by a team of specialist doctors having a desk at today's venue.
