First Lady Mama Rachel Ruto on Thursday hosted women from the Dawoodi Bohra Community at the State House, Nairobi.
The group donated food and other supplies to help fight the ongoing drought.
Mama Rachel pledged to back their initiatives, adding that she was encouraged by their efforts in advancing to the forefront in both global and national meetings.
She said their story serves as a reminder to women that they too are able to make meaningful contributions to the country.
At the time, President William Ruto also hosted the men from the Community.
“Community service is a noble ethic that is essential for the betterment of society,” Ruto said.
