Deputy President William Ruto on Saturday led the Kenya Kwanza alliance to Meru county in a hunt for votes.
He engaged Kianjai, Meru Town and Nkubu residents and traders on their vision to transform the country.
He was in the company of ANC Leader Musalia Mudavadi, MPs Mithika Linturi (Meru), Kathuri Murungi (S. Imenti), John Mutunga (Tigania W.) and Gichunge Kabeabea (Tigania E.).
Others were Moses Kirima (Central Imenti), Kithure Kindikii (Tharaka Nithi), Mugambi Rindikiri (Buuri), Ndindi Nyoro (Kiharu), Rigathi Gachagua (Mathira), Mohamed Ali (Nyali) and Sylvanus Osoro (South Mugirango).
Ruto saluted the leaders who have stood against State intimidation, threats and blackmail to establish the Kenya Kwanza Alliance, adding that his is because of their belief that it is the people ultimately who decide their destiny.
Earlier, some 30 Members of the County Assembly from Kiambu ditched President Uhuru Kenyatta's party for Ruto's United Democratic Alliance.
The MCAs led by Speaker Stephen Ndichu were received to the party at Ruto's Karen residence on Saturday.
