Kothbiro tournament 2022 has been suspended indefinitely after unruly youths interrupted the proceedings in the second half.

The tournament organizers had to call off the match due to security reasons and fans unrest.

Police fired tear gas canisters and live bullets into the air outside the Ziwani grounds to disperse unruly fans protesting referee's business on grounds that Leeds equalizing goal was offside.

The thrilling match between Borussia from Majengo and Leeds United from Kabete, ended 1-1. No penalties were taken.

The organizers will give their verdict on the same after having a meeting.

The winning team is to be awarded 300k alongside a trophy while the losing team goes home with 100k.

The annual Koth-Biro tournament was first held in 1978 with the primary objective of nurturing new footballing talent and enabling upcoming players to compete with and against top international teams as well as an advocacy tool to bring the youths together to address social and economic issues.
