On Saturday night, fireworks were displayed at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre to usher in the festive season.

The fireworks displayed at 8 pm as a welcome for the Christmas season caught many by surprise, as it left others in awe of how brightly lit the Nairobi skies were.

In an advisory issued by KICC, city residents had been cautioned to expect fireworks with loud noises.

Kenyans had also been advised to avoid any form of panic and report anything they would deem out of the usual, as the fireworks were being displayed.

A caravan was also launched alongside the fireworks that will go around the city lit with Christmas themed colours.

“We successfully painted the town red on what was a magical night. While #Realmagic happened here tonight, just remember that #RealMagic happens everywhere!” one of the sponsor of the project said.
