United Democratic Alliance presidential candidate William Ruto on Tuesday pitched tents in Bungoma and Trans Nzoia counties for a series of rallies.
The DP used the rally to sell his bottom-up economic agenda and to urge residents to back his presidential bid.
In his address, the DP said his government will prioritise farmers and ensure the costs of farm inputs are affordable.
"It is our role to raise farmers' capacity and increase their returns whereby there is more to sell in the market and more money in the pocket of farmers to spend which will boost other businesses," Ruto said.
In attendance were Bungoma Senator Moses Wetang’ula, Senate Speaker Ken Lusaka, Trans Nzoia governor Patrick Khaemba, MPs Chris Wamalwa (Kiminini) Didmus Barasa (Kimilili), Majimbo Kalasinga (Kabuchai), Charles Kanyi Jaguar(Starehe), Cate Warurguru (Laikipia County), Fred Kapondi (Mt Elgon), Catherine Wambilianga (Bungoma) among other leaders.
While in Trans Nzoia, the country's maize basket, Ruto pledged to ensure farmers are supported to improve their productivity.
"It will be our role as Kenya Kwanza Government to grow small enterprises as well empower maize farmers in Kitalale and Kiptenden of Trans-Nzoia as they form the basis of our progressive Bottom-Up Economic Plan that seeks to drive our growth."
