The country has reported 161 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours from a sample size of 2,805 tested in the last 24 hours.
Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said in a statement on Sunday that from the new cases, 158 are Kenyans and 3 are foreigners, and that 81 are females while are 80 males.
The youngest is a two-month-old infant while the oldest is 91 years.
Total confirmed positive cases are now 175,337 and cumulative tests so far conducted are 1,866,825.
The CS said that today, 177 patients have recovered from the disease, 113 from the Home-Based and Isolation Care program while 64 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Total recoveries now stand at 120,208 of whom 87,401 are from the Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 32,807 are from various health facilities countrywide.
Sadly, 14 people have succumbed to the disease, all of them being late deaths reported after conducting Facility Record Audits on diverse dates in the months of May and June.
This now pushes the cumulative fatalities to 3,410.
A total of 957 patients are currently admitted to various health facilities countrywide, while 4,796 patients are under the Home-Based Isolation and Care program.
Also, 155 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU), 29 of whom are on ventilatory support and 106 on supplemental oxygen. 20 patients are under observation.
Another 108 patients are separately on supplemental oxygen with 103 of them in general wards and 5 in High Dependency Units (HDU).
Nairobi recorded Nairobi 52 cases, Siaya 44, Homa Bay 11, Mombasa 9, Meru 9, Kiambu 8, Migori 6, Kisii 5, Kakamega 4, Nakuru 4, Kisumu 3, Uasin Gishu 3, while Bomet, Kericho, and Wajir recorded single cases each.
Regarding vaccination exercise, the CS said that as of today, a total of 1,113,158 vaccines have been administered across the country. Of these, the total first doses are 986,881 while the total 2nd doses are 126,277.
The uptake of the second dose among those who received their first dose is at 12.8 per cent with the majority being males at 56.4 per cent while females are at 43.6 per cent.
The proportion of adults fully vaccinated is less than 1 per cent.
