Karatina law courts closed over Covid-19 case

Karatina Law Courts in Nyeri County has been temporarily closed for 10 days after one of the judiciary personnel tested positive for coronavirus.

In a statement on Tuesday, Acting Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu said the staffer was among the 17 members in the court and was immediately isolated.

“We have arrived at the considered decision to temporarily close Karatina Law Courts for a period of 10 days from today, Tuesday, April 6,” Mwilu said.

Staff members were asked to self-isolate.

The closure will also enable all the personnel at the station to take a test for the virus.

During the closure, all urgent matters for Karatina Law Courts shall be directed to Mukurwe-ini Law courts.
