Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has said that the people of Malava will vote in the leader of their choice.

Speaking during a Sunday service at the Tumbeni African Church of the Holy Spirit in Malava, Mudavadi asked voters in Malava not to be swayed by propaganda and cheap political rhetoric about “outsiders”.

“Our friend here, Farouk Kibet (aide to President Ruto), has come to help us drum up support for the UDA candidate. He will not vote in Malava, neither myself Musalia, I will not vote in Malava. I have not registered as a voter in Malava,” he said.

“My plea is that when you see us here together with the leaders who have spoken, we have good intentions to make sure you vote in a good leader by making the right decision,” Mudavadi added.

Mudavadi said that the UDA Party is confident of victory in the November 27 Malava by-election days after its candidate, David Ndakwa, was cleared by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).

Mudavadi said it is now all systems go since the party has a formidable candidate to face Democratic Action Party–Kenya (DAP-K)’s Seth Panyako and DCP’s Edgar Busiega in what has been termed as a tightly contested race to replace the late MP Malulu Injendi.

“I have faith in the people of Malava, and I have a strong belief that you will help us get a good leader in David Ndakwa,” Mudavadi said.

“Ndakwa, you have to work closely with all leaders from this region. Look for brothers who will give you the right advise, get more friends and good people on board. This is my advice to you,” Mudavadi added.

Mudavadi rallied MPs Fred Ikana (Shinyalu), Tindi Mwale (Butere), Emmanuel Wangwe (Navakholo), Benard Shinali (Ikolomani), Nabii Nabwera (Lugari) and Titus Khamala (Lurambi), who vowed to campaign for the UDA candidate in the mini polls.

“The people of Kabras and Malava, let us be focused. This by-election should unite us more than ever as a people of this region. Malava should show the rest of Western Kenya the direction. Let us listen to our leaders; we should not despise them by being misled by the opposition, which does not carry any message of inspiration towards the future of our people,” warned Mudavadi.

Mudavadi appreciated the gesture by the UDA aspirants who ran against Ndakwa in the party primaries, who have demonstrated solidarity to rally behind Ndakwa as the party’s choice for the November contest.

Mudavadi said the three, Ryan Injendi Malulu, Leonard Shimaka and Simon Kangwana, are a good example in the quest to strengthen internal political party democracy and the future of politics in the country.

“The sons of former Malava MP, Ryan Injendi Malulu, Leonard Shimaka and Simon Kangwana have proved to be loyal members of our party UDA. Early September, and I am standing here as a witness, they met the Party Leader, President William Rut,o with a view to building a common front towards the party’s primaries and the upcoming by-election.”

“True to their word, they have agreed to rally behind Ndakwa, who is now our candidate following his victory in the party nominations., I want to assure the people of Malava and Western Kenya, personally, I am going to walk the journey with them, I will be their advocate before the President, who is our party leader and make sure their good deeds, honesty and loyalty is rewarded within the party’s framework,” Mudavadi noted.
