Nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi has urged Kenyans to register as voters in large numbers so they can choose the right leaders.
He said Kenya has many resources that, if well utilised, could propel the country forward in terms of development.
“If we want sober leaders who can change this nation, we must be ready to vote,” Osotsi told the Star on the phone on Sunday.
“We must come out in large numbers to elect leaders who will fight corruption, leaders who will protect devolution and ensure development countrywide.”
He urged the IEBC to increase the number of clerks registering voters.
“We can’t be saying we want to register millions of new voters yet the staff recruited are not enough,” Osotsi said.
Vihiga Woman Representative Beatrice Adagala had earlier urged the IEBC to increase the number of clerks, saying some wards are too large for three clerks.
ODM leader Raila Odinga had also decried the low turnout of Kenyans who are registering as new voters.
