Fire razes dormitory at Musingu Boys High School

Dormitory is named after Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya.

A dormitory at Musingu Boys High School was on Wednesday destroyed by fire.

The cause of fire is yet to be established.

Police said students were in class when the fire broke out at 11am before the brigade arrived an hour later.

The dormitory accommodates 504 students.

The dormitory is named after Kakamega governor Wycliffe Oparanya, a former alumnus of the school.

Western regional police boss Perish Kimani said no fatalities were reported during the fire.

Oparanya is expected to visit the school.
