Trans Nzoia Governor George Natembeya has announced the completion of the Modern Theatre Complex at Matunda Subcounty Hospital in Kiminini Sub-County.
“I am pleased to announce that the Modern Theatre Complex at Matunda Subcounty Hospital in Kiminini Subcounty has been fully completed and is now ready for equipment installation, ahead of its official commissioning to serve our people,” Natembeya said.
According to Governor Natembeya, the new facility is designed to enhance the delivery of specialised healthcare services in the region.
“This state-of-the-art facility comprises four fully equipped surgical theatres and a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU), designed to support advanced surgical procedures and the management of complex and critical medical cases,” he stated.
He noted that the completion of the project represents an important step in improving access to healthcare services for residents of Kiminini and neighboring areas.

“The completion of this facility marks a significant milestone in our deliberate effort to bring quality, life-saving and specialised healthcare services closer to the people of Kiminini and the surrounding regions," he said.
According to Natembeya, the facility will also significantly reduce the high costs and long distances residents have traditionally endured in search of such services.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening healthcare systems across the county.
“This project reaffirms our unwavering commitment to strengthening healthcare systems across Trans Nzoia County and ensuring that every resident has access to dignified, timely, and quality medical care,” he said.
Governor Natembeya emphasised that the county leadership remains focused on long-term health outcomes for its residents, saying.
“We remain focused on building a healthier, stronger, and more resilient Trans Nzoia for all.”
